If you're like me, we could care less about candy or cheap Hersheys bars. Scoff. But a damn fine decadent dessert made with real ingredients that are actually good for you... that's got my attention! And this one straight up tastes like an indulgence you'd order at a five star restaurant.
Enter the Avocado Coconut Cacao Mousse (cue the drooling). The recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and paleo-ish.
Made with natural ingredients and an insanely rich texture, you'll never go back to the standard V-Day crap in a box again. I know, I'm a lot of talk here... you better try it out and find out for yourself! You can thank me later. :)
· 1/2 avocado
· 1 cup coconut milk
· 2-3 pitted dates, rough chop
· 3 tablespoons unsweetened, cacao powder
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· Pinch of salt
· Optional: toppings
Heat up coconut milk (pour into a pot and bring to a light boil). Add the dates and let heat up for ~4 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit ~ten minutes (so dates will soften). Add to blender and blend for about 30-45 seconds. Dates will start to dissolve. Add avocado, cacao, vanilla and salt. Blend until creamy! Rest in the fridge to thicken up and really take this baby to the next level. Add a fun topping if you like and enjoy!

This treat is full of rich, healthy fats and just enough sweetness. Feel free to explore adding in, layering, or topping dish with other ingredients like mint leaves, orange zest, berries/sliced fruit, coconut flakes, nuts/seeds, collagen or superfoods for fun. Enjoy!
